Rivals250 CB visits two schools

In the past few weeks, Rivals250 cornerback Damien Thigpen took two unofficial visits. The 5-foot-8, 170-pounder made his way to two Big East schools. What did he think and what is next for the talented prospect out of Manassas (Va.) Stonewall Jackson?
"I went to Connecticut this past weekend and West Virginia a few weeks ago," he said. "Connecticut was really good. They have some good facilities. I went there and toured the weight room and checked out all the stuff inside the school. They showed me the study hall film and meetings, I watched practice and met with Coach Ambrose and Edsall.

"The practice was pretty good. It was high intensity and they were moving around. Talking to Coach Edsall was good too. He talked about how he'd use me and I got to know him, he's a good man."
Meanwhile, what did the four-star prospect think of his trip to West Virginia?
"I was there for a junior day with my dad," he said. "I watched them practice and it was similar to UConn. Coach Beatty gave a nice presentation. I met with Tajh Boyd and Logan Heastie. They talked about trying to get me up there with them, but I'm not making that decision yet. It was good watching them practice. I can see how someone like me could prosper in their offense."
More visits are coming for Thigpen in the near future.
"I'm going to Stanford this weekend and then to Tennessee," he said. "I'm not sure on the date there."
In the meantime, Thigpen is busy with track too.
"I'm doing outdoor track now," he said. "Indoor went well. I didn't go to nationals, but I contented in the 110 and 200. My stamina is getting a lot better."
