Much of the speculation around Rivals250 cornerback Jalen Green’s recruitment has centered around his interest in Texas A&M or Texas, but another in-state team might try and find a way to wiggle into the picture.

While the Aggies are a more familiar program at this point, Green joined several of his Houston Fast 7v7 teammates on a visit to TCU on Friday. His stop in Fort Worth was just his second, but from the sounds of things, it may have helped to pave the way for more return trips.

“They’re coming at me hard,” he said. “This time was different because I got a feel for the environment out there and just being out there with the players.”

Getting Green on campus was a little bit of a boon in regards to his recruitment, he very easily could have been in attendance at the Aggies Friday Night Lights event instead. TCU has created a positive energy this spring among recruits, and several Frogs targets joined Green on Sunday for the Dallas event of the Rivals Three Stripe Camp presented by Adidas.

Green is one of the state’s top defensive backs, so Gary Patterson certainly hopes that the time his staff spent with him made an impact.

“I went out there to watch the spring game and Coach (Paul) Gonzales took me in his room and showed me plays,” he said. “He was just going over some one-on-one coverages and some techniques I could work on.”

Many teams have offered Green, but it has seemed as though the more local teams have benefited from the proximity so far as his recruitment has been concerned. Green was in Austin to visit the Longhorns last weekend and is considering returning for their spring game on April 15.

“They’ve been talking to me every day, checking up on me and my family,” he said. “They had a scrimmage going on, and after that I had some time to talk with some players and ask some questions about the campus and all that.”

Green isn’t overly expressive when it comes to his thoughts on where teams are ordering themselves with him, so the best guess going forward could come simply from following his visits. Green was as sharp as ever in coverage last weekend and took defensive back MVP honors at the camp and earned an invite to the Rivals Five-Star Challenge presented by Adidas, so all the programs most heavily involved with him will surely look to host him on campus as often as possible.
