Rivals250 ATH visits ND

Rivals250 athlete Harrison Smith took his final unofficial visit of the summer last week to South Bend, Indiana. The 6-foot-2, 201-pounder stopped in the Charlie Weis and the Irish.
"I had a good visit," he said. "Basically the first day I got there I got to talk with coach Minter and then I saw the facilities. Coach Weis gave me a tour of the campus and then I also was able to talk to the players and coaches."

What did Smith think of Weis?
"I liked him a lot," he explained. "He was very easy to talk to and you could tell how smart he was by talking to him. I even got to see his Super Bowl ring which was pretty cool. One thing he did tell me that stood out was that he told me to take my time and weigh everything out."
Most of the trip the Tennessee athlete spent with Rick Minter.
"I did spend most of my time with him talking," he said. "I was in his office probably for a couple hours and he talked about football, himself and Notre Dame. I especially liked how he discussed the great opportunity at Notre Dame and how they ran things there."
Though Smith had a good trip to South Bend, he still wouldn't claim a leader.
"It was a real nice visit up there and I liked the campus and players a lot," he said. "I'd say Notre Dame is pretty high up there for me and I'm interested in them, but I haven't cut my list down. I plan to probably make a top five sometime this summer."
As for a decision, Smith has started to think about that too.
"I have wanted to do it before the season and would still like to if I can, but if not that is ok too."
Smith accounted for 1,312 yards rushing and 24 touchdowns. He added 87 tackles, 11 for loss and seven interceptions on his way to all-district, league, region and state honors.
