Rivals250 ATH looking close to home

Jackson (Miss.) Murrah Rivals250 athlete Malik Dear has proven over the years he is more than capable at receiver, and running back and he has the tools to make life difficult for opposing defenses.
College attention has come from near and far, but when he checked in at that Rivals Camp Series in Hattiesburg it was the Mississippi State Bulldogs who held the lead.

Now, he has adjusted his thinking.
"Like you said the last time you talked to me schools were standing out, but now I think everybody has the same opportunity and everybody is equal right now," Dear said. "My options are still open. No one is leading right now."
So what schools are in the mix?
"Really just Mississippi State and Ole Miss," Dear said. "That's who I'm talking about is coming hard."
Coaches from Mississippi State and Ole Miss have already been to visit this spring and they have been hot on his trail in other ways as well.
"Like Ole Miss and Mississippi State they send mail, they tweet me, and all of that," Dear said. "They're just letting me know they're the ones."
Dear plans to make a decision after his senior around November or December, and while he is not ready to name a leader between the two he knows what he is looking for in his future program.
"Well, the important factor is if I'm going to play," Dear said. "I'm not trying to go anywhere where I'm just going to be watching. I want to go somewhere and play. And I don't want to go too far. I want to go somewhere my friends, my coaches, my family can come watch me whenever they want to."
One thing not important to him is his future position.
"Right now I just want to get on the field. It really doesn't matter where I play," Dear said. "I can play offensive line as long as I can get on the field and play my heart out. It doesn't matter where they put me."
