Rivals100 WR reschedules visits

Rivals100 wide receiver Jay Smith appears to be down to four schools. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder out of Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor was scheduled to make his first official visit this weekend to Virginia Tech, but things have changed a bit.
"He did not take the official to Virginia Tech because he had some academic demands on him due Monday," his father, Mordecai Smith said. "He is still slated to take some officials. We have to get Jay to Tennessee, Miami, Virginia Tech and we should be in Raleigh on Thursday. We're just going for the game on Thursday at NC State it'll be an unofficial visit.

"Right now we're planning to head to Miami on October 13th, Virginia Tech on October 20th and Tennessee on November 4th. Jay just needs to physically go and make his visits and then evaluate the environment and talk about it with his mom and I. He thinks he'd fit in at all these programs."
Do the rumors regarding potential coaching changes at Miami and North Carolina State worry Smith?
"I don't think that bothers him at all," he said. "He would be remiss to say he doesn't like the present coaches at all the schools, but he's going to let the season progress and make a decision afterwards. A coaching change certainly could change the complexity of the program and given that situation Jay wants to wait until the end of the season. Right now he's focused on academics and helping Lake Taylor to win a district and possible state title."
