Rivals100 WR Malone sets first visit

Rivals100 presented by Under Armour prospect Josh Malone is still working to trim his list heading into the fall, but the Gallatin (Tenn.) Station Camp wide receiver is sure of two things. No. 1, he's only going to take visits to schools he's still legitimately interested in this fall, and No. 2, Vanderbilt will be the first school on his list to get a visit.
"I'm going to the Vandy-Ole Miss game on Aug. 29," Malone said "It's going to be an unofficial visit, but I'm looking forward to it."

Malone has a who's who when it comes to an offer list, and he hopes to get more clarity on which schools have the best shot to land him after talking with family. Once he has a better idea of who makes the cut, Malone will set his official visits.
"I'll probably just go to the schools I'm interested in," he said. "The process is getting pushed up. I have to look at the schools I like and visit those places and make my decision."
As far as the Commodores, they'll have first crack at making an impression on Malone.
"Vanderbilt is a school I'm looking at because it's a great opportunity," he said. "They're really changing the program, and Coach Franklin is doing a great job. I picked the game because I know it's a rivalry game now. It was a close game last year, and I know it's going to be a great game and I'm really going to get to see them get after it. I really wanted to see them play, and it should be a great environment."
As far as a timeline for a decision, Malone isn't sure. However, he is planning on enrolling early so he's hoping to have things wrapped up by the end of fall.
"We haven't really decided on a date yet," Malone said. "I know it's going to be before December so I can get my paperwork in to enroll early."
Other teams in the mix for Malone's services include Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State, Clemson, Florida, UCLA and Louisville.
