Rivals100 WR Jalen Curry talks recent moves with SEC programs

Rivals100 wide receiver Jalen Curry began his recruitment as a freshman with an SEC offer from Auburn but in recent weeks, other conference teams have led the discussion when it comes to landing his next commitment.

After a de-commitment from Florida State following Jimbo Fisher’s move to Texas A&M, offers from all over found their way to Curry. One of the teams that was first to make a move on him was Tennessee, and at the end of April, he took an official visit to get his first look at the school.

“I didn’t know how to expect to feel in Knoxville,” he said. “When I got there it amazed me and opened my eyes. I can really see myself down there playing.”

The Volunteers have done well to show him that he is a priority recruit, and new head coach Jeremy Pruitt has taken a personal role in working to reel him in. After meeting him on his visit, Curry said that he left with a positive impression of the new man in charge.

“Coach Pruitt is a real cool dude,” he said. “He’s behind his players 100-percent. He just wants his guys to be successful.”

Among the other teams that have been on him most recently, LSU and Ole Miss have appeared to make the biggest efforts. LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger visited St. Pius X on Tuesday as Curry and his team continued spring practice, and Ole Miss made a stop on Wednesday.
