Al’Vonte Woodard is this close to releasing his top-ten, he’s just looking for one last bit of good news before he does.

“I was waiting on (LSU) and they came in a couple of days ago,” he said. “Now I am just waiting on one last offer from Clemson to finish up my top-ten before I post it.”

Clemson, who has been very active in friend and teammate Anthony Cook’s recruitment, is a confirmed addition to the list, which Woodard has been generous in previewing. A few weeks ago he included LSU in the group of teams he would definitely include, and the Tigers offered shortly after.

Assuming Clemson follows through with that offer, Woodard also earlier confirmed it would join LSU, as well as Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M and West Virginia as programs certain to make the list.

IN HIS WORDS

On LSU

“LSU is known as a defensive school, but with a new receivers coach, a new head coach, things could change,” he said. “I’ve only talked to them a little bit about the offense, but now that I have the offer, I am sure I’ll be talking with them more.”

On Clemson

“I just like Coach (Dabo) Swinney,” he said. “I haven’t talked to him yet, but just seeing him on TV, just seeing the way things have been going out there, I think he’s cool.”

“They’ve been talking to my coach and I know Anthony (Cook) has been helping me out trying to get the offer,” he said. “I’ve been talking to (Mike Reed) and my relationship to him – I know that he’s pushing hard to get me the offer.”

RIVALS REACTION

Another team that could be in the running for a spot in Woodard’s top-ten is Ole Miss. Woodard still plans on making a visit to Oxford on the first weekend of April and the staff has already made some strong promises to him in the hopes of winning his favor.

“They said that if I come there, I could play right away,” he said. “They said they need me up there so I can come see the campus, so I’m going out there.”
