receivers has given the telephone circuits a good workout in recent
days.
Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln's
Antonio Cromartie said
he talked extensively to coaches from Florida, Miami and LSU since Sunday, "and I got
messages from about 30 others, but I wasn't home to get them. My mom said
everyone's been calling constantly."
With good reason. The five-star Rivals100
member is the complete package at wideout, bringing a 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame
and a 4.43 forty to the table. As a junior, he caught 28 passes for 483 yards
and seven touchdowns, rushed for 586 yards and six touchdowns, and had four
interceptions on the defensive side of the ball.
Asked what his current top five list looked like, the once-FSU commitment said
"It's more like seven or eight. I like Florida, FSU, Miami, Georgia, Michigan,
LSU, Oklahoma and Illinois. That's pretty much the main teams on my list right
now.
"I'm going to the Florida-Miami game this weekend. I'm
really excited about seeing two top teams play and how they match up. I went to
the FSU game this past weekend, but it wasn't too exciting (a 40-19 win over
Virginia)."
Cromartie and Lincoln open the season on Thursday against
his former team, North Florida Christian, and Rivals100 linebacker Ernie Sims,
the nation's top-ranked player.
