Rivals100 TE visits LSU

Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds tight end NaDerris Ward took his first official visit this past weekend to LSU. At one time, Ward wasn't eve sure he was going to visit Baton Rouge but now the Tigers are a serious player for the talented athlete.
Ward, 6-5, 250 pounds is one of the nation's elite players at his position. He's a very good athlete with an ideal frame to play tight end in college. The next two months will be busy for Ward as he'll be taking all five of his trips over the next eight weeks starting off with the visit to LSU.

"It was great, LSU really opened up my eyes," Ward said. "I got to hang out with Jonas Mouton and Mark Johnson a lot and we all bonded pretty well. We all had a real good time and those are some good guys right there. The game was a lot of fun and they played well.
"I was checking out the depth chart at tight end and I think I would have a great chance to come in and compete for playing time right away. They don't have a lot of tight ends on the roster so from a playing time standpoint, that's a big plus. I got along well with all the players and coaches and just felt very comfortable there.
"The funny thing is, I was debating not even visiting LSU. I just wasn't sure if I should take the trip but Coach Henson really stayed on me and convinced me to come out there and now I'm glad I did. Right now, LSU is in my top three along with Georgia and Tennessee and I could definitely see myself as a Tiger."
Ward will take anther visit this weekend (Oct 21) to Arizona and then has Tennessee (Oct. 28), Georgia (Nov. 18) and Florida (Nov. 25).

I could always decide after my Georgia visit since they have been one of my leaders this whole time but I want to take all five and I'm still planning to check out Florida as of right now."
