Rivals100 receiver hopes to announce decision this month

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Anthony Schwartz’s recruitment is in its waning moments. He’s zeroing in on a decision and has a final five in mind. That's all news the four-star receiver doesn’t mind sharing.

“It’s Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and LSU,” Schwartz said on Saturday. “I know my officials. I’ll take them to those five schools. I’m getting with them soon to schedule them.”

Of the five programs still alive in his recruitment, Florida, Auburn and Georgia seem to be the most involved, but Schwartz’s recruitment is made more complicated because of his standing as a two-sport standout. His skill set dictates that there be a surplus of moving parts.

An established track star with Olympic hopes, Schwartz says he will participate in both sports at the school of his choice and will eliminate any institution that won’t allow him to do so. As one of the fastest football prospects in America, the ask doesn’t seem astronomical.

A decision will likely come soon for Schwartz, who is currently ranked as the No. 15 wide receiver and No. 87 overall prospect in the class of 2018.

“I’m trying to get it done before football starts, so I’ll be deciding in the next couple of weeks,” he said, implying that he will take his official visits after making a commitment.

IN HIS WORDS:
-- “It’s mainly three of them coming at me the hardest. It’s Florida, Auburn and Georgia.”
-- “At Florida, the football program and the track program are both great. They want me real bad and were one of my first bog offers. That shows a lot to me. They wanted me before all the hype happened.”

-- “With Auburn, I love my visit every time I go there. The coaches tell me I could change their whole game and be a start out there.”

-- “Georgia wants me to be there and change the whole offense. They say they don’t have any deep threats like me. They want me to come in and take the top off defenses.”

RIVALS REACTION: Florida remains the smart pick here, but who knows? Schwartz is attempting to choose two athletic programs instead of just one, so the potential for last-minute changes of heart in amplified.
