Penn State's red hot start to the 2018 class continued on Friday with their second commitment of the day. This time it was Rivals100 running back Ricky Slade. The Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton star took an unofficial visit to Happy Valley just a few days ago with his parents and that sealed the deal. Penn State's first commitment on Friday was three-star LB Jessie Luketa.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"The fanbase up there, the family feeling, and the academics are great up there," said Slade. "It was a great family feeling.

"My mom really isn't big on the football part of it," he said. "She came up there to see the academics and talk to the academic people to see what they were like. She put a stamp on that part and was good with the football part already.

"This past year they showed that their offense if capable of competing with anybody in the country," said Slade. "I think I can come in and make the offense even more dominant than what it is right now."

RIVALS' REACTION

Slade is the real deal. He is a great fit for the Penn State offense and is an instant home run threat when he touches the ball. Slade doe s a great job of making players miss in the open field and he has a knack for making something out of nothing. He is also a major threat in the passing game and he will surely get a lot of catches at Penn State. The only question mark with Slade has been his size. He is on the smaller side but has added good weight over the past 12 months and that needs to continue.
