Rivals100 RB has five on top

Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic Rivals100 running back Derrius Guice is not in a hurry with the recruiting process at this point. He does not plan to make a big decision until after his senior season and he plans to check out several college options.
"Yeah you have to look at all your options, you don't want to narrow it down too soon," Guice said.

He may not be in a rush to see the process come to an end, but he does have a top five when it comes to his current college choices.
"The order would be LSU, Southern Miss, Texas, Georgia, and Alabama," Guice said.
Each of his four options have given him plenty of think about. He has visited Southern Miss twice now and both times "I didn't want to leave." The Golden Eagles have built a strong relationship with the Baton Rouge standout, as have the LSU Tigers who are "always going to be my No. 1." The style of play at both LSU and Alabama fit his power style and Georgia and Texas also have his full attention.
The standout running back is may have a top five but he is also quick to point out it is still early in the process and a lot can happen. His top five currently standout, but they are not his final five.
"Those are my standouts," Guice said. "I haven't really eliminated anyone because everything can change and I can change my mind. Like this season a coach I was really close with could get fired or just leave and that would down my interest in that school. I just named the four standouts. It's not like those are my schools and I'm not going anywhere else."
Guice has taken a few visits, but he has not done a lot of heavy duty traveling yet. He plans to change that fact in the near future. In fact, two of his current top five college choices are already on his visit schedule.
"I'm going to Georgia in about two weeks and I'm going to Texas next week," Guice said. "I'm going to like five different schools on spring break. This week is the last week of school so Friday will be the first day of spring break because we don't have school Friday."
Alabama and Mississippi State could also receive visits, and Guice mentioned wanting to visit Florida State and Oregon in the future as well.
Guice is currently ranked No. 95 in the Rivals100 and No. 8 among the nation's running backs. He is ranked No. 2 in the Rivals.com Louisiana Preseason Top 40 for 2015.
