Rivals100 QB Sims breaks down choice

One of the top quarterbacks in the country wrapped up his recruitment early while on a visit to Alabama. Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith quarterback Phillip Sims made his choice amongst approximately 25 offers.
"I committed last night around seven," he said. "I committed to Coach Sal and Coach Saban. They were excited. They just kept going on and wish I could get down there."

What made Sims commit while on the visit to Tuscaloosa?
"It was just a great place," he said. "I just couldn't see myself holding out when I knew that was where I wanted to be. I made it official and let everybody know.
"They've got a great environment, a great coaching staff and the players seem to be into it. They are on the rise and even more than that, I want to be apart of it."
The coaches had a big part in Sims choice.
"It was just that they knew what they are doing. They can put you in position to succeed, you can't ask for much more than that."
The No. 52 prospect in the country believes he'll be a good fit at Alabama.
"I sat down and looked at film and they are doing some of the same things we do at Oscar Smith," he said. "It shouldn't be a difficult transition. I just have to learn the terminology and reads. Of course, the game will be faster."
Meanwhile, Sims mentioned the possibility of enrolling early.
"I'm not sure yet, but there is a small possibility of that happening."
In the meantime, the four-star prospect is working hard to recruit for his new team.
"The coaches told me they have a few wide receivers in mind and said I'll be a big part of them getting there since I'm here. Whoever it is I'll do it to bring them here."
