Rivals100 OL trims list

Four-star offensive tackle and Rivals100 Team member Drew Miller has drawn attention and scholarship offers from coast to coast, but has started the process of narrowing his long list to a more manageable set of schools.
“Right now I have scholarship offers from everyone I’m interested in except Georgia,” said the Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview standout. “And they called in May and came down to see me twice. Things look good there.”

Miller (6-6, 305, 5.2) is considered by many scouts to be the Sunshine State’s top offensive lineman. Tallahassee Lincoln’s Calvin Darity, another Rivals100 Team member, is considered his top competition for that title.
His current list of favorites includes Florida, Miami, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee and Georgia. He had also been considering Auburn, Kentucky and Virginia, but has dropped them from his list.
“Florida and Miami are my top two,” Miller said. “Those are the ones I’ve been able to visit and gotten real comfortable with their coaches. They have an advantage over the other ones because of that, but that may change when I make some official visits.”
Miller said the only camp he’ll attend this summer is Florida’s one-day camp on July 12. The Gators have been a longtime favorite, but don’t expect a verbal commitment next month.
“I’m not in a hurry to do anything,” he said. “I don’t want to wait forever, either, but I do want to take some other visits.”
Academically, Miller has a 2.5 core GPA and has scored a 1000 on the SAT. He said his core has been steadily rising since a disappointing freshman year that put him in a hole. He had a 3.5 GPA this past semester.
