Rivals100 OL is a hit in Michigan

Wheaton, Ill. offensive tackle prospect Dace Richardson (6-foot-6, 300 pounds) spent Tuesday and Wednesday on the road during his spring break, visiting both Michigan and Michigan State with his father. Richardson, who earlier had received a scholarship offer from the Spartans, also was offered a scholarship by head coach Lloyd Carr and the University of Michigan on Wednesday.
“My Dad and I visited the University of Michigan on Wednesday," Dace Richardson said. “I really enjoyed my visit to Ann Arbor, I was able to check out a practice, then I also was able to sit in on the offensive line meeting as well. I had a lot of time to talk to Coach Carr as well as the rest of the coaches, and the players also made me feel very welcomed. I really liked the players as well, and I was able to talk to Jason Avant, who played at Chicago Carver. He seems like a really good guy and we talked about what's going on in Chicago these days. Before we left, Coach Carr told me that they were offering me a scholarship to Michigan, which was great."

Yet according to Dace Richardson, Michigan State also made a very solid impression on him as well on Tuesday. "Our first stop was on Tuesday to Michigan State. Overall I was really impressed with the campus and the facilities. Both my Dad and I were able to talk to Coach Smith as well as the rest of the coaches. I was also able to see a practice, and I was really impressed with the offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. We just seem to hit it off really well, and I was impressed with the way he works with the offensive linemen. Before I left East Lansing, I told Coach Smith that I was going to set an official visit to Michigan State. I haven't set any dates yet, but I promised the coaches that I would make an official visit to Michigan State."
Dace Richardson will be taking the ACT test on Saturday, then he will be making a visit on Sunday to the University of Wisconsin for a junior day event.
