Rivals100 LB will visit Miami

Bayonne, N.J. linebacker Jerome Hayes received three new offers in the last week. Did any of them make his new top eight?
"I got offers from Nebraska, Pitt and North Carolina," said the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder who could also play running back in college. "None of them are in my top eight, but I am still going to take a long look at each. I need to get out this summer and see around six schools before I can figure out what official visits I want to take."

So who is in Hayes' top eight now?
"Miami, Michigan, Virginia, Rutgers, Maryland, Boston College, Michigan State and Syracuse," he said. "Syracuse and Rutgers said I can play running back while the others mostly want me as a linebacker. I don't really care where I play, I just want to get on the field."
Michigan has already been in his school and Miami is also due this week.
"I expect a ton of schools to come through," he said. "They've all called and said they're coming. Of all the schools, I can say that Miami is one of the ones I will visit officially for sure. It's too far to do an unofficial trip."
Hayes has already visited Rutgers, Syracuse and Michigan State and hopes to visit Maryland, Boston College, Virginia and Penn State over the next few months.
"I'm going to the NIKE camp at PSU so I'll see it then," he said. "They're also on that short list outside my top eight. I'll visit some others soon as well."
As a junior, Hayes rushed for 1,200 yards and 18 scores on offense and had 18 tackles for a loss on defense.
