Rivals100 LB visits Columbus

Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park linebacker Wes Jefferson took an official visit to Big Ten country this past weekend to check out the national champs. Did the Buckeyes dent Maryland's lead?
"It was a good trip," said the 6-foot-2, 230-pounder of his official visit to Ohio State. "I learned a lot about how they do things there and it's good to see how a national champion is organized."

Jefferson, ranked as the No. 2 inside linebacker in the country, headed to Columbus with Maryland as his slight leader. Did things change?
"No, not really," he said. "I still like Maryland the best, but Ohio State is certainly an option. Coach Tressel is a really good guy and they want me at mike linebacker and there's a chance for me to play."
Next up for Jefferson is Notre Dame, a visit that has been moved back to Jan. 24. Then it's decision time.
"It will still be around Signing Day when I announce," he said. "Either a few days before or the day after. I've been to Miami, Maryland and now Ohio State and they're all great places. After Notre Dame, I'll sit down and compare with my family."
