The end of Rivals100 linebacker Teradja Mitchell's recruitment is in sight. Offers starting rolling in during his freshman and sophomore years of high school but now the Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan star is down to Florida State and Ohio State.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"I'm committing at my school during a ceremony," Mitchell said. "It's going to be at 7pm on Friday June 2nd.

"Before my last visit to Florida State, I didn't know much about the business program of the college or their plans for their players with life after football," he said. "During the visit I learned about both of the programs and they left me impressed. It would be a great fit.

"Ohio State's success in the previous drafts show their development of players is top notch," said Mitchell. "They are national championship contenders every year and they have a great business program. I'm close with Wayne Davis and I talk to Jalyn Holmes from time to time.

"I have talked to players from both schools' 2017 and 2018 recruiting classes," he said. "Marvin Wilson, Alexander Marshall, Asante Samuel, and Robert Cooper from Florida State. Baron Browning, Taron Vincent, Jaelen Gill, Dallas Gant, and Max Wray for Ohio State."

RIVALS' REACTION…

Mitchell's recruitment has been boiling down to Florida State and Ohio State for some time. It seems like both schools are essentially equal for Mitchell when it comes to developing players, playing time, relationships with the coaching staff, and on-campus feel. What could end up being the deciding factor is the strength of Mitchell's relationships with the players already at the schools. He is a popular player and many of the highly rated players from all over the country are in contact with Mitchell but there are a number of players at Florida State right now that Mitchell has been close with for years (Levonta Taylor, Derrick Nnadi, Josh Sweat, Khalan Laborn, etc). That has always been the factor that no other team in the country can compete with and it will still be hard for the Buckeyes to overcome that despite the considerable effort they've put into recruiting Mitchell.
