Rivals100 LB steady with two teams

A member of the
Rivals100 team took a weekend

off from visiting schools for games, but should be back on the road this
coming week.
"I didn't go anywhere yesterday," said Jackson
(Tenn.) Central Merry linebacker
Daniel Brooks. "I was home trying to rest up after our
game Friday night. I'm probably going to be cutting down on my trips as we
get further along in our season. We're 7-0 right now, and I want to
concentrate on my team."
But not before one more trip.
"I'll be at Alabama this weekend for their
homecoming," he said. "It's against Ole Miss, another team I'm looking at,
so I've had that game down for a long time."
Brooks has been to Ole Miss twice, most recently to
see the Rebels upset Florida two weeks ago. "It was great. Very exciting,"
he said. "That was a fun place to be that day. But to tell you the truth, I
wasn't even really thinking about recruiting the whole time. I was just
happy to be there watching a great football game, watching a lot of good
players."
He maintains that Alabama and Tennessee (where he visited for the Florida game) continue to
lead for his services.
"After those two, I really haven't seriously thought
of who would come next," Brooks said. "I do like (Ole Miss, Arkansas and
Middle Tennessee -- his previously reported teams rounding out a top five),
but not quite as much as the first two.
"Alabama and Tennessee just stand out the most, and
I'm talking about everything -- facilities, tradition, coaches, academic
programs. They've got the main things I'm looking for."
Brooks (6-3, 230, 4.56) has the physical tools to be
one of the nation's most dominant players. As a junior, he recorded 104
tackles, nine tackles for loss and five sacks. He said he's had close to 50
tackles thus far as a senior.
