Rivals100 LB sets up first official

Columbus (Ga.) Carver linebacker Jarvis Jones has narrowed his school choices down to seven. The No. 43 overall propsect in the Rivals100 and the No. 4 outside linebacker in the nation has set up his first official visit to one of those schools for a big game in October.
"I like Florida, Georgia, LSU, Clemson, Texas, USC and Miami," Jones said. "Right now I will visit Texas when they play Missouri (10-18). I have pretty much narrowed it down to those seven schools and I am open."

Jones, 6-3 and 226 pounds, plays on one of the state's top defensive units. Carver is off to a 3-2 start and he's playing well.
"I think I am moving better than ever. I am faster and playing sideline to sideline. Even more (coverage) drops are better.
Last weekend Jones was in Athens for the Alabama/Georgia game and the week before he was at Auburn for LSU/Auburn.
"The Georgia game was kind of surprising to me. The atmosphere was great and there were a lot of recruits there. I thought it was gonna be a close game and Georgia did play better in the second half. Alabama looked good.
"The Auburn game was real close and it came down to the end. They (LSU and Auburn) are two great programs.
"The SEC is just so good. Look at what Ole Miss did to Florida. Nothing should surprise you about that league."
Jones is a terrific athlete and one of the better basketball players in the state as well. He has made all-state in hoops for three consecutive years and was the AAA Player of the Year as a freshman and junior.
