Rivals100 LB lands two more offers

Christchurch (Va.) Christchurch School linebacker J'Courtney Williams has added two more scholarship offers from the Big East and the SEC to up his total to five. Who did the 2007 Rivals100 prospect get the offer from and what does he think about them?
"I got two new offers in the last couple weeks from Louisville and Mississippi State," he said. "It's very good to have interest from any Division I school, but these schools in particular I don't have too much information on them.

"I know I want a school with a good education, a chance for playing time and a good location so that my parents can come and watch my games. One other thing I want is a real good relationship with the coaches. I don't plan to go out to the West Coast, but I could go South of here."
The 6-foot-4, 218-pounder currently holds scholarship offers from Maryland, Virginia and Virginia Tech as well. The Hokies and Cavaliers are Williams leaders at this point in time.
"Basically I like them both because of the location, they are my home state schools," he said. "I like Virginia a lot because I look up to them and it is my father's favorite team. I have a lot of relatives and friends that go to Virginia Tech too including one of my former Danville teammates Cam Martin. If I had to make a decision it would be between those two schools, but I can say my decision is going to be a long process."
Williams had 400 yards receiving and five touchdowns along with 78 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions in just five games as a junior. He went on to be named all-conference.
"I tore some cartilage in my knee, but I still had a pretty good year and I'm all better now," he said. "I think my best attributes on the field are my knowledge on defense. I really know how to read plays that are going to occur."
Besides being a star football player, Williams is also an impressive basketball prospect.
"I'm getting looks from schools including Virginia Tech, Penn State, VCU and others," he said. "Coach Beamer and Pearman from Virginia Tech informed my coach that I could play football and basketball if I went there. I don't think I would want to do that though because of the stress it puts on my grades and I want to concentrate on one sport to be the best at it."
This summer Williams plans to take in the Nike Camp at Clemson as well as summer camps at Virginia and Virginia Tech.
