Rivals100 LB is taking visits

Rivals100 linebacker Khairi Fortt took the first of three consecutive unofficial visits. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder visited one school in the Big East this past weekend.
"This past weekend I went up to Connecticut, next weekend I'm going to Penn State and then the following weekend I'm going to Notre Dame," he said. "Connecticut was nice. I liked how the coaches treated me. I spent a lot of time with Coach Edsall.

"I sat in one of their meetings and had a good time. I have been there five or six times. There wasn't too much different this time."
With impending visits to Penn State and Notre Dame, what is Fortt hoping to see there?
"I hear a lot about these schools," he said. "I've only been to Penn State for a camp and one game. I want to see the environment and atmosphere of the students and coaches. I know the tradition is great at both of these schools. I also want to get a feel what it's like there. I'm not going to make a decision on a place I've never been to. That's why I'm trying to get out to most of these schools to see what the campus, coaches and players are like."
Offers continue to roll for the No. 22 prospect in the country as well.
"My most recent offers are from Oklahoma, Georgia, Oregon, Alabama and Florida," he said. "I've been trying to contact Coach Norton at USC. They may offer over the phone."
With so many colleges to choose from already, does Fortt like anybody?
"I like everybody," he said. "I know I am going to narrow my schools down to 12 by the end of May to get a better idea of where I'm going," he said. "Then after the season I'll narrow it down to five and take my five official visits."
Fortt went on about what he's looking for in a school.
"No. 1 is academic performance of African American players on the team," he said. "Then I'll look at alumni and job opportunities after football. I'm also looking at football and trying to look for a school that isn't full of competitors. I want somewhere I can play. I don't want them to have 11 linebackers in front of me. I'd like somewhere I can get along with the players."
Fortt posted 118 tackles and two interceptions as a junior.
