Rivals100 LB high on Gators, Noles

One of the hottest prospects in the South late this season was Florence (S.C.) Wilson linebacker/tight end Lawrence Timmons.
A new member of the Rivals100 Team, Timmons (6-3, 225, 4.6) says he is narrowing his focus, and currently has two schools at the top of his list of favorites.

“I’m still open to all the schools I’m visiting, but I’m really liking Florida and Florida State right now,” he said. “I’m feeling real good about them.
“I like the way their defenses use their linebackers, and both of them are losing some players this year. They have a good chance for someone like me to come in and play next year, especially Florida State.”
Timmons will visit Tallahassee this weekend, followed by a trip to Gainesville on the 16th. He also has visits scheduled with Tennessee on the 23rd and Georgia on the 30th.
“I’ve not been recruited as hard by Georgia as some of the other schools, but I’ve always liked them,” he said. “It’s a good school and close to home. I still want to check them out if they’re still interested in me.
“As far as Tennessee goes, I know some people up there and I’ve always liked watching their teams. They have some good coaches, too. I like coach Brooks.”
Timmons visited North Carolina in December. He said he hasn’t completely written off the Tar Heels, but noted they would be “a sleeper” at this point.
“It’s a harder decision than I ever thought it would be,” he said. “I really like all these schools.”
As a senior, Timmons recorded 150 tackles and two sacks for the Wilson defense. He also had 47 receptions for 800 yards and five touchdowns.
He is rated the No. 4 outside linebacker in the nation by Rivals.com.
