Rivals100 LB hearing from Notre Dame

Four-star inside linebacker Sione Lund attended a big game two weeks ago and has been hearing from a new school which certainly has caught his attention.

Lund, the No. 4-rated prospect at his position in the 2017 class, was in the stands for the massive Michigan-Utah game to see two of his favorites kick off the 2015 season.
And though the 6-foot, 230-pound prospect from Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton has stockpiled several college options -- even naming Stanford the leader at one point -- he remains open to exploring all angles. That has led to increased communication with Notre Dame since the contact period started earlier this month.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Lund said he is likely to stay closer to home this fall to watch the Utes and BYU in action on weekends, but he is open to a visit to South Bend to see the Fighting Irish as well if the opportunity presents itself.
IN HIS WORDS: "Coach (Todd) Lyght has reached out to me everyday and tells me all about Notre Dame and how I would be perfect there," Lund told Rivals.com. "They really want me to come out, so if I could do that, that would be awesome.
"I loved the Utah and Michigan game. Both programs are unreal. I'll probably go to a couple more Utah and BYU games, too."
RIVALS' REACTION: The Cardinal should still be considered the frontrunners until Lund gives other indications. He really enjoyed his stay in Palo Alto earlier this year and that instantly catapulted Stanford to the top of his list when he landed the offer. On top of all that, his teammate and good friend Simi Fehoko committed to the Cardinal and the two have talked about a packaged deal, so that could prove too much to overcome for others. Still, it's at least somewhat significant that Lund has been willing to hear what other coaches have to sell.
