Rivals100 LB: Bama still a co-leader

One of the nation's elite prospects says the
coaching situation at Alabama is a disappointment to him, but continues to

list the Crimson Tide as one of his co-leaders.
"I'm not pleased at all," said Jackson (Tenn.) standout
Daniel Brooks, a member of the
Rivals100 team and the No. 4 inside linebacker in the nation.
"The way (Dennis Franchione) handled everything, that was just wrong.
"It leaves a bad taste because he lied to me and
said he'd be at Alabama. He looked me eye-to-eye at the Auburn game and said
he was going to be there. It makes you wonder what to believe when you talk
to people."
Despite the personal disappointment, Brooks (6-3,
230, 4.56) said Alabama and Tennessee remain at the top of his list.
"I still like them," he said. "I don't hold what he
did against Alabama. I still like their program and the school. Nothing's
changed there."
Brooks was scheduled to make an official visit to
Tuscaloosa this weekend. He says he'll reschedule that date once the Alabama
coaching situation is clear.
The Brooks home has been a popular stop for coaches
from across the South this week as Tennessee (Sunday), North Carolina
(Tuesday), Auburn and Alabama (Wednesday) and Ole Miss (Thursday) have all
come to Jackson to meet with the family.
"I just talked to Alabama about my visit coming up,
and the next thing you know, they don't have a coach," he said.
