Alabama got to roll out the red carpet this past weekend for Rivals100 defensive end Eyabi Anoma. The Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances star was on hand for the Crimson Tide’s game against LSU and he came away very impressed.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

“It was a cool visit,” Anoma said. “I got to see the atmosphere of a really crazy game with a big booster club. There were people that really die for Alabama. People are huge fans there and even have tattoos of Alabama. That’s the type of environment I like to see because it’s a real football town and I’d be welcome there. I’ve never seen an environment like that.

“It was cool talking to the coaches,” he said. “We just talked football. They’ve been looking at my film and evaluating me. They let me know some of the things I need to work on. I talk to them about everything I am good at and what I need to get better at because I’m starting to stand up a little more. I got some really good feedback. I’ve been working on that stuff ever since I came back home.

“All the coaches I talk to give me pointers on how to improve,” said Anoma. “I talk to a lot of coaches about what I need to work on. I like to hear everybody’s point of view.

“I might hit Maryland this weekend,” he said. “I’m not sure yet. I don’t have any other visits set up. I’m still signing in December.”

RIVALS’ REACTION…

Alabama was considered the favorite to landed Anoma’s commitment heading into last weekend’s visit and there is no reason to think any differently now. Maryland remains the biggest threat to the Crimson Tide. Anoma has been to Maryland more than any other school so it won’t make or break Maryland’s chances if he doesn’t end up making it to College Park this weekend for the Michigan game. The Wolverines are also a major contender for Anoma and he is expected to take a visit to Ann Arbor at some point before he signs this winter.
