Rivals100 DE takes in first junior day

Rivals100 to watch defensive end Robert Quinn took in his first junior day this past weekend. Where did the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder out of North Charleston (S.C.) Fort Dorchester go?
"I got back from South Carolina's junior day yesterday," he said. "It was good. I got to talk to the coaches and get to know them a bit more. I also checked out the facilities. I talked to a lot of the coaches including Lawing, Spurrier Jr., Beamer and Spurrier.

"They all talked to me about the same things, getting a good education and how they don't care if you're a freshman. If you want early playing time, you have to prove it on the field because everyone else there wants to win. It was a good trip and I got to sit down with Steve Spurrier for a bit. He pretty much said the same stuff as the rest of the coaches."
Meanwhile, Quinn has plans to take a few visits in the near future.
"This coming weekend I'm planning to go to Auburn and then on the 31st I'm going up to Tennessee."
Currently 11 schools have offered the Palmetto State lineman so far.
"I've got offers from Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Tennessee," he stated. "I'd say it's pretty even amongst those schools."
This spring, Quinn plans to take in a couple combines including a Nike Camp in the near future.
Last season Quinn registered 80 tackles and nine sacks.
