team is in the process of setting up one of his five official visits.
"I just got off the phone with Florida State," said Tignall (Ga.) standout
Richard Cook. "Coach
(Billy) Sexton just wanted to know how I was doing, told me that they really
wanted me to be part of their program and was helping me set up my official
visit. It's looking like I'll go down there the first weekend in December."
Cook (6-4, 265, 4.6) is one of the nation's top-rated
strongside
defensive ends. In addition to the Seminoles, he's got offers from
Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina and Maryland.
"Those are pretty much still my top five or six," he said. "Tennessee may be a
little bit ahead right now. They were the latest to offer, and I really like
what I've heard from them. South Carolina has been good, too. I'm going to try
to set up an official visit there, but I don't know when.
"I've also had a lot of calls from Auburn and Clemson, too, so I may be looking
at them."
Cook attended Georgia's games against Clemson and South Carolina. He's
considering going to Auburn this weekend for the Syracuse game.
As a junior, Cook recorded 105 tackles, five sacks and five tackles for loss at
Washington-Wilkes. Through three games as a senior, he's had 13 tackles, but is
still awaiting his first sack of the season.
"People are double-teaming me constantly and running away from me," he said. "I
guess it's just something I'm going to have to get used to. The good thing is,
I've got some good teammates, and they're making a bunch of plays, so maybe
people can't keep doing that."
