The spring evaluation period can be hectic for college football prospects. For Da'Shawn Hand, the nation's top rated recruit, it's just another day of college coaches wanting to talk with him.

Coaches from almost every school in the country have passed through Woodbridge (Va.) Woodbridge Senior to see how the country's best player is doing. Among the coaches who have made the pilgrimage to northern Virginia is a contingent from Alabama, one of Hand's top schools.
"I didn't work out that day. It was my off day," said the 6-foot-4, 248-pound Hand. "They just came by for a few minutes. I didn't really get to talk to them because I had to catch my bus."
Hand's schedule has been the subject of a lot of scrutiny. Of Hand's top five, which includes Alabama, Florida, Michigan, South Carolina and South Carolina, Alabama and Florida are the two schools that Hand has not visited recently.
"I'm planning on visiting Alabama some time during the summer time," he said. "I haven't really been doing anything with recruiting lately."
Hand did share his plan to make a surprise visit to the Crimson Tide's arch rival.
"I'm going to Auburn this weekend," said Hand. "I'm going with my coach. He's going down there so I figured I could kill two birds with one stone. I probably won't head over to Alabama. I'll probably save that for another trip."
Now every Tigers fan is wondering what kind of chance Auburn has of landing the nation's best player.
"I'm just keeping an open mind," he said. "I'm going to see what they have to offer. We never really talked or anything so I'm just going to go and see how the visit goes."
Hand will be participating in the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge at Solider Field in Chicago.
