Rivals100 DB sets Penn State official visit

After transferring schools in the offseason so he could graduate early, Rivals100 defensive back JoeJuan Williams was declared ineligible to play this fall. While he's been limited to just practices and workouts, the time off hasn't slowed his recruiting at all. Williams has been a regular at Vanderbilt games this fall, but said he's looking forward to getting out and starting to take official visits, and the first date he's locked in is to see Penn State square off against Michigan on Nov. 21.

IN HIS WORDS: "I really like Penn State," Williams said. "They have a great tradition and a great coaching staff. I really think I would fit In their defensive scheme. Coach Shoop sees me as a corner right now and that I can be placed all around the defensive backfield. I can't wait to see the school, the fans and the atmosphere of Happy Valley."
RIVALS' REACTION: Williams has known the coaches at Penn State since they were in Nashville with Vanderbilt and those relationships are paying off. Shoop has been aggressive in his pursuit of Williams and while the Nittany Lions aren't the frontrunner to land Williams at this time, you never know what could happen with an excellent official visit. Several other schools remain in the mix to get officials from Williams, including Tennessee, Vanderbilt, LSU, Texas A&M and Auburn.
