MANDEVILLE, La. -- Rivals100 defensive back Erick Young’s head might have been spinning a little bit last weekend while at Texas A&M on his official visit.

The perceived top two schools in the race for his commitment, A&M and Oklahoma, both produced a flurry of commitments while hosting numerous top prospects two weekends ago during their respective spring games. The Aggies certainly would have liked to include Young in their haul, but at the very least, it sounds as though another strong impression was made with him.

“Everyone’s committing to both of those schools,” he said. “And I like both of those schools a lot. You’re seeing a lot of the defensive guys going to A&M and a lot of offensive guys going to Oklahoma … but A&M felt like home and you look at the guys committed there, they feel like if we all go there we can be a great defense.”

Young is no stranger to College Station and said that even though it was a familiar experience, he said there was one significant upgrade to his most recent trip out.

“It was great as usual,” he said. “I’ve been up there a couple of times, but I love everything about it. This time was different because of the food. I was always full - I definitely gained some pounds.”

Elaboration is not typically Young’s calling card, but as far as the rest of his recently released Top 6 is concerned, Alabama and Ohio State appear the most likely to mix it up with the Aggies and Sooners. TCU and USC could duke it out for a final official visit before he makes a commitment.
