Rivals100 CB closing in on a decision

Is Terrence Mitchell closing in on his college decision? This four-star cornerback prospect from Tampa Hillsborough made his final official visit this weekend when he tripped to Tallahassee to visit Florida State. Was it enough to put the Seminoles in the driver's seat?
"I had a good time and felt very comfortable there," Mitchell said. "I got along with all the players. Greg Reid was my host and he showed me a good time. I talked with coach (Mark) Stoops a lot. I like him. He's very approachable. He's a young coach and very understanding. It's a plus for me that he's the defensive coordinator and my position coach.

"I also met with coach (Jimbo) Fisher today. He explained to me how I fit into the program. My dad was there and so was coach Stoops. They talked about how they would use me and how they need me.
"I have not had an in-home visit with them yet. I probably will sometime next week."
Mitchell has also visited USF, Georgia, Tennessee and Illinois. But according to Mitchell he is now down to three schools - FSU, Illinois and USF. And unless the Bulls make a quick coaching hire, they could be out of the running as well.
"Honestly, I would love to have a decision made by the end of the week. I am not going to do anything special. I will just call up the school and tell them I am committing.
"I like coach (Ron) Zook a lot at Illinois. He recently made an in-home visit with me and it went real well. I liked my official visit there. Zook is a nice guy and I love his personality. He seems to really care about his players."
Something Mitchell didn't expect was the firing of USF head coach Jim Leavitt late last week.
"It's a sad thing. Everyone was texting me and telling me about it. I talked with coach (Larry) Scott asked him how true it was and he said it was true. I was really considering them and still am. But if they don't make a decision (on a coach) soon I will make my commitment."
Mitchell, 5-10 and 165 pounds, in the nation's No. 5 rated cornerback prospect. He's also a member of the Rivals100.
