Rivals100 ATH takes an unofficial

Rivals100 athlete Brandon Smith took a trip over to Piscataway over the weekend. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder was in attendance for the Scarlet Knights opener against Buffalo.
"I went up on an unofficial and it went pretty well," he said. "I liked the whole atmosphere.

"I got there about an hour before the game started. I talked to coach Schiano in his office, and then I went and chilled with some players on the field and got to watch the game. The only player I really got to talk to was Anthony Davis."
How was the game experience for the four-star prospect?
"I thought the game was good," he said. "Rutgers beat Buffalo pretty bad, but they had one guy from my neighborhood that stripped Ray Rice. The rest of Buffalo's team defensively didn't have a very good game though."
The next visit coming up for Smith is a trip to Michigan on September 21st for an official. Certainly the no. 2 prospect in New Jersey saw the Wolverines loss to Appalachian State this past weekend and gave his thoughts on the game.
"A loss is a loss," he said. "They probably slipped and weren't quite ready for Appalachian State, but I think Michigan is a pretty good ball club. They've got a lot of potential and will do better in the coming weeks.
"As for my visit there, I just really want to get the best feel of the school as possible."
Currently Smith has no other visits scheduled at this time.
"Right now, I'm less focused on seeing schools and more concerned with winning my coach another state championship," he said. "We start the season on September 15th against Teaneck. We've had a couple scrimmages and I feel with the coaching staff and talent level on this team, we'll be alright."
