Rivals100 ATH looking at four

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.- Fresh off eliminating the in-state Georgia Bulldogs from consideration, Rivals100 athlete Morgan Burnett is focused on four major suitors.
It came as a surprise to most that follow recruiting in the Peach State that the College Park North Clayton standout would no longer be considering the Dawgs. Burnett's brother Cap played football at UGA.

"It was more a case that I wanted to do my own thing," Burnett said. "A lot of people were just assuming that I wanted to follow my brother, but I wanted to step outside of the shadow and make my own way."
Of note is that the quartet of schools in contention are on the Bulldogs' schedule every season and likely would be considered UGA's four biggest rivals by most fans.
"The teams in contention are Georgia Tech, Florida, Tennessee and Auburn," Burnett said. "I already took a visit to Tech and I've got visits set up for Florida, Auburn and Tennessee in January."
"I'm still trying to find out about everybody, so I'm still wide open."
At the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl this week, Burnett is rooming with Volunteers offensive line commit Darris Sawtelle.
"I got to know my roommate Darris from Detroit," Burnett said. "He committed to Tennessee and I've gotten to know him. We've not really talked about football, though. I'm just trying to get to know him from a non-football standpoint."
On that note, Burnett is enjoying getting to know all of the players in South Florida for the inaugural event, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday and will be televised by ESPNU.
"I'm really enjoying meeting different players from all over the country," he said. "They've got me listed as a defensive back. I'll probably play safety."
Burnett is the nation's fourth-ranked athlete.
