Rivals/VTO New Jersey: Players to watch

For the first time, the Rivals.com/VTO Sports Elite 100 hits New Jersey and the talent expected on hand will be outstanding. Rain or shine, there will be some great battles and plenty of top competition. Led by the nation's No. 6 player, Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy defensive end Kenny Bigelow, here's a look at some of the top players to watch on offense and defense...

Rivals/VTO Sports New Jersey Elite 100: Offensive players to watch

Augustus Edwards, RB, Staten Island (N.Y.) Tottenville

Tottenville traditionally produces a couple of BCS-level kids every few years and Edwards will be one of these. He has quietly reeled in eight offers, and at 6-1 and 210 pounds, he has a unique blend of power and speed.

Damon Mitchell, ATH, Egg Harbor City (N.J.) Cedar Creek

Playing at a school that had its first varsity season last fall, Mitchell came out of nowhere a couple of months ago and now is sitting on seven offers. Mitchell is listed as an athlete, but will work out at quarterback, where he is beginning to get more and more interest for.

Khaliel Rodgers, OL, Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy

Rodgers has dominated every camp he has gone to over the last two years and will look to continue that trend in New Jersey on Sunday. Extremely powerful while also being very fundamentally sound, Rodgers has become one of the top interior offensive linemen in the country.

David Sills, QB, Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy (2015)

Sills is already a household name to recruiting fans and on Sunday the USC commit will once again look to impress everyone in attendance. Mature beyond his years and getting stronger every time we see him, Sills has proven that he is much more than hype, and as he continues to improve, the sky is the limit for the talented signal caller. The fun will be to see how he throws in the rain if the weather forecast is correct.

Myles Nash, ATH, Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek

Another athlete hoping to make his mark at quarterback will be Nash. Currently at nine offers, Nash has been receiving interest at defensive end, linebacker and even wide receiver. He is eager to prove that he should be noticed at quarterback also.

Brandon Bell, LB, Mays Landing (N.J.) Oakcrest

At 6-2 and 215 pounds, Bell is a hard-hitting linebacker who also moves extremely well from sideline to sideline. Bell, who is currently up to nine offers, including West Virginia, Rutgers, Purdue, Northwestern and Maryland, will look to prove that he should be considered an elite linebacker in the region.

Kenny Bigelow, DL, Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy

Bigelow is a dominant defensive lineman who can beat you with a wide variety of moves. The USC commit is physically imposing, but uses much more than just his strength and size to punish offensive linemen. Hopefully he will stay injury free as he has had a couple of issues at the last few camps. We want to see him go full out and dominate like a five-star should.

Buddy Brown, LB, Williamstown, N.J.

Brown is never afraid of competition and he's out to continue to show that he belongs with the best in the country. He will be challenged by some talented running backs at the event and should be interesting to watch as the one-on-ones continue. He still has the frame to grow into a linebacker but the quickness of a safety so he's an interesting 'tweener.

Dajaun Drennon, DE, Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek

Drennon has become of the top recruits in the region, and currently is approaching 25 offers. Extremely quick off the edge, Drennon has also added strength and size to his frame over the last few months. He has been considered a bit raw, so it will be interesting to see how his technique has improved.

Ebenezer Ogundeko, DE, Brooklyn (N.Y.) Thomas Jefferson

Ogundeko came out of nowhere to become one of the most coveted defensive linemen in the region. Recently reeling in offers from top programs like Florida, Alabama and Ohio State, this will be his first opportunity to test out his abilities against top competition in public.
