Rivals/VTO Florida: Players to watch

For the first time, the Rivals.com/VTO Sports Elite 100 hits Florida and the talent expected on hand will be outstanding. The camp will feature a strong group from the 2013 class, but also some early standouts from 2014 and 2015. Here's a look at some of the top players to watch on offense and defense.

Rivals/VTO Sports Florida Elite 100: Offensive players to watch

TYLER COGSWELL, PQB, PLANTATION (FLA.) AMERICAN HERITAGE

Cogswell is a big quarterback at 6 feet 5, 220 pounds and has a big arm allowing him to make throws to all parts of the field. He will be arguably the top quarterback prospect in attendance on Sunday. He has performed well at other camps and events leading up to this event. He is looking to wrap up a strong pre-spring camp circuit with one final showing.

RODERICK JOHNSON, OT, DELRAY BEACH (FLA.) AMERICAN HERITAGE

Johnson is a 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle that pledged to the Florida Gators recently. He is a talented blocker up-front who has grown into his body over the past year. Johnson received consideration for four-star status when the initial rankings were released. With a strong performance on Sunday he could push himself into that category.

ADAM LANE, RB, WINTER HAVEN (FLA.)

Lane is another Florida commitment that is set to participate in Sunday's event. Lane is a short, compact back at 5-8, 216 pounds who is coming off a junior season that was lost due to injury. Now fully healthy, Lane is trying to show that he has returned to the form he showed during his sophomore campaign that had him on the radar of teams around the nation.

JACOB MCCRARY, WR, MIAMI (FLA.) CORAL REEF (2014)

McCrary is a 6-foot, 182-pound athlete who is likely going to end up being recruited as a wide receiver over the next two years. He has already reeled in a few early offers, including Clemson and Florida State. He is quick off the line of scrimmage and does a good job of attacking downfield and winning the ball in the air. He is an electric athlete in the open field.

JACQUES PATRICK, ATH, ORLANDO (FLA.) TIMBER CREEK (2015)

Patrick is a talented athlete who is going to be just a sophomore this coming year. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect is currently considered a running back but as he physically matures he could end up at another position such as linebacker. His combination of athleticism and size has already led to the likes of Auburn, Florida, and Florida State deciding to offer him.

MORAL STEPHENS, WR, PERRY (FLA.) TAYLOR COUNTY (2014)

Stephens is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound sophomore wide receiver who will become a national name over the next two years. He has good speed, great size, and excellent hands at the wide receiver spot. Stephens does a good job of being a big target on the outside but also shows the ability to attack to the inside and make catches in traffic.

KEITH BRYANT, DT, DELRAY BEACH (FLA.) ATLANTIC

Bryant has been a steady riser since the end of his junior campaign. The 6-foot-2, 311-pound defensive tackle who is committed to Miami has a quick first step at the line of scrimmage and plays with a chip on his shoulder. Schools around the country have offered over the past several months, but his best football is likely still ahead of him. He will be a load for the offensive linemen to combat on Sunday.

MARCELL HARRIS, S, ORLANDO (FLA.) DR. PHILLIPS

The Rivals250 defensive back checks in at 6-1, 209 pounds, but due to his thick frame and playing style has to constantly hear the whispers of a move to linebacker in his future. The four-star has always shown the ability to play safety in camp settings and will look to do the same on Sunday.

CECE JEFFERSON, DT, GLEN ST. MARY (FLA.) BAKER COUNTY (2015)

Jefferson is just a freshman, but has already made his mark on varsity for Baker County and shown himself to be a wrecking ball at the line of scrimmage. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive lineman has a quick first step and the versatility to work on the inside or outside of the defensive line. He is ready to compete with and against some of the Sunshine State's best regardless of class.

JOEY IVIE, SDE, DADE CITY (FLA.) PASCO

Ivie's film just recently became readily available to schools and that has led to him immediately accumulating double-digit offers. He is a 6-foot-4, 269-pound offensive lineman who could end up a strongside defensive end or defensive tackle in college. He has yet to become a household name, but a strong camp showing on Saturday could cement his status as one of the best defensive lineman in Florida's 2013 class.

LEON MCQUAY III, S, SEFFNER (FLA.) ARMWOOD

McQuay is a Rivals100 defensive back prospect who is in contention for top safety honors in the nation. The 6-foot-2, 182-pound prospect is athletic enough and has the hips to play cornerback but excels at the safety spot. While he isn't much of a talker off the field, he tends to get people buzzing with his performance on it whether in a camp setting or an actual game.

QUINTON POWELL, OLB, DAYTONA BEACH (FLA.) MAINLAND

Powell is a versatile outside linebacker who is an excellent speed-rusher off the edge but also can make plays to the outside or even drop back in coverage. He is strong on his 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame but will be adding more weight to that as he prepares for the next level. The Florida commitment has shined in 7-on-7 and camp settings throughout the past couple months and Sunday should be no different.
