Rivals Recap: Southern California

FONTANA (Calif.)-- Damian Alloway had an impressive offseason and that certainly continued on Friday night as the four-star wide receiver completely dominated in Fontana (Calif.) Summit's 49-28 victory over Fontana (Calif.) A.B. Miller. Alloway ran the ball, caught the ball and was also deadly on special teams.

I was impressed with...
Alloway had an incredible night. There's no other way to put it since he scored four touchdowns in all kinds of ways and absolutely showed he's one of the better prospects in California this recruiting cycle.
The four-star receiver started with a 65-yard touchdown run on a jet sweep where he sprinted down the sideline, beat a bunch of defenders and then cut back into the field to get into the end zone.
Alloway's nicest play all night was called back because of a personal foul. On a punt return, the Summit standout dodged a few defenders early, ran down the sideline, scurried past some others and then cut back, waited for some blockers and got in the end zone. The yellow flag sitting around the 30-yard line brought it back.
But Alloway was nowhere close to done.
He showed great concentration when a pass intended for another receiver was tipped in the end zone and Alloway was there to catch it for his second score.
Alloway's third touchdown came on a short pass where Alloway caught it around the 10-yard line and beat the defensive backs into the end zone.
His final TD came on another jet sweep, this time where he brilliantly followed his lead blocker, even taking him by the back of the jersey and pushing him into a defender as he sprung free and raced 75 yards untouched.
All night, in every phase, Alloway was outstanding.
I was surprised by...
Stephen Carr has proven to be one of the top 2017 running backs in the country and even though he didn't get many carries on Friday he still looked great when he had the ball in his hands.
His biggest play came on an off-tackle run where he found some open space, cut back and then ran 67 yards for his lone touchdown. Carr's speed was the most impressive - and surprising - because even though defensive backs had the angle to slow him up he still beat them to the end zone.
Fontana (Calif.) A.B. Miller did not have a lot of success on Friday night but one lone bright spot was 2017 athlete Malik Flowers, who was responsible for three touchdowns.
The speedy Flowers, who played quarterback but could move all over the field, had excellent burst and scored on two runs of 15 and 34 yards and he also threw a 38-yard touchdown pass late in the game.
