Rivals Recap: Oklahoma weekend

Oklahoma's finest were on display on Thursday and Friday. The first stop was to Oklahoma City to see John Marshall host Bridge Creek. The night began slowly but John Marshall separated for a 55-14 win. In Tulsa, it was a battle of state powers Union and Southmoore. Union was able to get out to a 24-10 halftime lead and then run away in the second half for a 52-24 win. Oklahoma's No. 1 prospects in 2016 and 2017 were in action and several top 2018 prospects also were seen over the weekend.

The Rivals250 member was not tried too often by the Southmoore offense, but he showed off his big-play abilities elsewhere. He had two touchdowns on the night and both were long plays in which he showed his speed and explosion. His first was a 76-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and his last was an 80-yard kickoff return. Both plays saw him hit a hole and blow past his opponent. It did not take him long at all to get behind the defense and he was not about to be caught from behind. Here to view this Link. may be raw in many aspects of his game but he is gifted with the physical foundation that could take him a very long way in the game of football. His footwork, his natural size and his strength make him a mismatch on the football field for most people he will face on the high school level. His play-to-play motor is not always there and he did get caught out of position a few times Thursday night, but if he continues to work and fine tune his game, there's a good bet we will be hearing from Mr. Moore for years to come. Here to view this Link. is one of the most imposing defensive tackle duos I have had a chance to see this season. Standing 6-5 and 300 pounds, Brannon combines with the 6-5, 330-pound Moore to form the great wall of intimidation. These are two first-off-the-bus, set-the-tone types of guys. And both get it done on the field. Moore has already grabbed scholarship offers from schools across the country and Brannon could see even more attention as he continues to progress. Here to view this Link. is a massive presence up front. His hands are quick and he has a very strong punch. He made quick work of those who got within his reach, and put several opponents on the ground with just a quick strike. In the run game he also does a great job of getting a push and driving his man or men off the ball. Here to view this Link.. The Texas TechClick Sticking with line play, Moore (Okla.)
