ATLANTA -- The Georgia Bulldogs staff has been bouncing all over the Southeast to hold camp events in recent weeks and on Wednesday the tour rolled into KIPP Atlanta Collegiate High School. Head coach Kirby Smart and several of his top assistants were on hand, as were several players on the Bulldogs’ recruiting radar. Here’s a breakdown of what caught our eye.

Three-star athlete Deon Jackson has spent the spring collecting offers and, now that he’s focused on running back full-time, it appears as if a few more big ones might roll in before it’s all said and done. Jackson received extra attention on the field from Bulldogs running back coach Del McGhee and it wouldn’t be a shock to see him pick up an offer from the school sooner rather than later.

I was surprised by...

Three-star South Carolina commit Devonte Wyatt was at the event working out and he thinks he did enough to earn an offer from the Georgia coaches. The 6-foot-4, 298-pound prospect made easy work of the rather shallow offensive line group, but even so it’s easy to see why the Gamecocks pushed for his commitment after he impressed at camp earlier this month.

Other observations

There was some big-time defensive back talent in attendance as Georgia commit William Poole III, Clemson commit LeAnthony Williams, five-star A.J. Terrell and South Florida product Stanford Samuels III all took part in the camp. The quartet of players is ranked in the Rivals100, and Samuels and Terrell are priority prospects for Georgia in the class.

Class of 2018 Rivals100 Myles “Spider” Sims worked out for the coaches and said he expects an offer to come shortly as well. Sims is a 6-foot-2 corner with great speed and already has offers from Clemson, Auburn and several other programs. An offer from Georgia would put the Bulldogs firmly in the mix for his services.

Four-star wide receiver Corey Reed attended the camp but was unable to workout after tweaking his hamstring as a camp last week. He said the injury is minor and he expects to be back soon. Other schools that are recruiting Reed are probably thankful he wasn’t able to workout, as an offer from Georgia would shake up his recruitment. Right now Reed lists Louisville as his leader, but an offer from Tennessee is likely to come soon and he also is scheduled to visit Miami next month.
