I WAS IMPRESSED WITH...

Three-star Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes quarterback Isaiah Green took home the camp’s top honors and punched his ticket to the finals in Baltimore with an excellent performance. The under-recruited playmaker showed that he’s more than just an athlete playing the quarterback position. He was consistently accurate while also showing good velocity and an ability to put touch on the ball when needed.

I WAS SURPRISED BY...

Class of 2017 Deerfield Beach, Fla. Quarterback Nick Holm made it to the final round and just narrowly missed on taking home the overall crown. He was rewarded with the “Touchdown Touch” award for his performance and he was one of the most accurate quarterbacks when it came to throwing the ball deep down the field. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound prospect is still waiting on his first college offer, but he clearly has the talent to play at the next level.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS...

Two of the class of 2018’s best quarterbacks were in attendance on Sunday as Trevor Lawrence and Emory Jones both turned in quality showings at the event. Lawrence and Jones are both being recruiting by the likes of Clemson, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee and their recruitments will likely be linked going forward. Both prospects said they intend on announcing a college decision sometime over the summer, which could trigger plenty of quarterback dominoes around the Southeast. The two players each earned awards for their showings during the competition, with Lawrence winning the “Rocket Arm” award and Jones taking home the “Mobile Marksman” award.

Four-star Kentucky quarterback commit Mac Jones won the quarterback MVP at Saturday’s Atlanta Rivals Camp event and followed it up with Perfect Spiral Award win on Sunday. Jones sharp play this offseason has included a trio of awards at Rivals Camp events as well as an invite the Five-Star Challenge later this spring.

Last year’s Rivals Quarterback Challenge winner in Atlanta was Chase Brice, who had yet to receive a scholarship offer at the time. On Sunday Brice returned to the Quarterback Challenge, this time as a Clemson commit. Brice, who also finished second at the overall finals in Baltimore last year, narrowly missed making the event’s finals on Sunday. Even so, Brice didn’t leave the event empty-handed as he was given the “Mr. Mechanics” award for his showing.
