Rivals Most Wanted: Nasirildeen, Daniels, Phillips

With offers going out on a regular basis at this time of year, we are focusing on three prospects each week who saw a flood of scholarship offers come their way. This week, we have three players from three different parts of the country all catching the attention of major programs.

This week’s offers: Notre Dame, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida, Florida State

Status report: While Nasirildeen was already a four-star recruit and had several offers, the last seven days put him on an even higher trajectory. Now on the radar of most major programs, he still plans to take his time with his process. He has no timetable for a final decision and seems to be willing to go with the flow and wait until the time feels right. With his size, athleticism and versatility, look for Nasirildeen’s process to stay hectic in the coming months.

In his words: “It feels great. I just gotta take my time and look into things deeply to make sure I’m making the right decision.”

Visit plans: Nasirildeen has taken visits to South Carolina, North Carolina State and most recently Florida State, where he picked up an offer during its junior day. He does not have any further visits scheduled, but he knows he would like to get a closer look at Penn State, Ole Miss and Notre Dame when the opportunity arises.

This week’s offers: Texas, USC, LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss, Baylor, UCLA, Colorado, Iowa State, Texas State

Status report: Daniels managed to add four offers in one day, as Texas, Ole Miss, Michigan and Iowa State all offered last Friday. Daniels, is planning to make his final decision after taking his official visits, and while he does not claim any favorites, he did mention that he grew up following Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Georgia and Missouri.

In his words: “Everything feels great. I love every school that has interest in me and all of the schools that have offered me. I plan to consider all of them.”

Visit plans: One of Daniels’ more recent offers came from LSU, where he took a visit last weekend. Next up is a visit to Texas-San Antonio this Saturday and then Ole Miss next weekend. While he has not scheduled any additional visits past Oxford, he mentioned that he would like to take a closer look at USC, UCLA, Iowa, Iowa State and Michigan.

Offers this week: Michigan, Alabama, Texas A&M, Louisville, Vanderbilt, San Jose State

Status report: Phillips already had a dozen offers, but when Alabama and Michigan offer in the span of 24 hours, everyone else’s interest level is also raised. It’s likely that this will lead to more offers and the possibility that Phillips’ process will take longer to play out. UCLA has been seen as a favorite for Phillips, and continues to be, as his father is a graduate. Joining UCLA at the top is Stanford, which has made up substantial ground. Also in serious contention are Notre Dame, Washington, Alabama and Michigan. Look for Phillips to stay busy as he mentioned that he would like to take as many visits as possible before making an educated final decision.

In his words: “It’s just a blessing being able to have this many choices. It gets kind of hectic and harder to choose, but it’s really cool to be able to meet all of these coaches and develop relationships. If anything, I just feel more determined. It all makes me work harder than ever. There's obviously some pressure built in, but it just drives me to work.”

Visit plans: Phillips took a visit to Stanford over the weekend and next plans to visit USC and UCLA during their spring practices. He would also like to visit Notre Dame “as soon as possible.”
