Rivals Most Wanted: Chandler, Sewell, Williams

Each week, Rivals.com looks at three players who reeled in significant offers during a seven-week stretch. This week's group includes one player from the 2017, 2018 and 2019 classes.

This week’s offers: Florida, Virginia Tech, Purdue

Status report: As has become the norm, a couple of days after Chandler released his top 10, a few new big-time offers rolled in for him. Adding an SEC, ACC and Big Ten offer in a few days only solidified his status as an offensive lineman to watch in the coming months. Tennessee, Georgia and Kansas are three other schools that have also increased their interest, according to Chandler. A Bulldogs' offer would definitely shake up his process, as both he and his family grew up as big fans of the program. However, he was also quick to point out that an offer wouldn’t necessarily make Georgia his top choice as he will spend the next couple of months researching the schools that have offered. He also plans to release a new top 10 in a couple of weeks and will make his final decision a week after his senior season concludes.

In his words: “It makes me feel good knowing the coaches from those big schools and all over believe in me and my talents and want me to play for their teams. It’s come as a surprise, because when I came back to my hometown my freshman year, I didn't expect this. I didn't even expect to play football, but I did, and I really didn't expect it to be like this. It's unbelievable and I'm just gonna enjoy it.”

Visit plans: Chandler took a visit to Georgia for the spring game but has no other visits planned due to his playing on the school’s baseball team. After his baseball season, Chandler would like to visit Mississippi State, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Florida, Colorado State and Texas-San Antonio.

This week’s offers: Tennessee, Arizona State, BYU

Status report: Sewell’s recruiting process hit another level last week with three more impressive offers. An SEC offer for a 2018 recruit from Utah tends to grab people’s attention, plus an offer from in-state BYU is always important. Sewell moved to Utah from American Samoa when he was 11, so he never followed any specific program while growing up. However, he does follow several American Samoans who are currently playing college ball, such as Destiny Vaeao, Logan Tago and Shalom Luani at Washington State and Elu Aydon at Oregon State.

In his words: “I just feel overwhelmed about my recruiting. I feel blessed. I'm not gonna say I'm shocked, but I'm not going to say that I was expecting all of them. When I heard each offer I would thank the man above. He has blessed my whole life and the offers I've received were a gift from my Heavenly Father.”

Visit plans: Sewell has not taken any recent visits, with stops to Utah and USC being his most recent a couple of months ago. When it comes to future visits, nothing is scheduled, but he would like to check out a few East Coast programs as he has never been to that part of the country. He will also attend the All-Poly Camp this summer.

This week’s offers: South Carolina, Michigan, Arizona

Status report: Junipero Serra High School is no stranger to D-I talent, and that trend has no signs of slowing down. Williams continued to reel in the offers this past week, with big-time additions from the SEC, Big Ten and Pac-12. Already approaching double-digit offers, one school still missing from his list is USC, which Williams mentioned as his favorite school growing up. So look for the Trojans to be a major player for Williams if or when they decide to offer. While there is still an extraordinary amount of time remaining in Williams’ recruiting process, it is already safe to say that he will be one of the most highly-recruited cornerbacks in his class.

In his words: “It's a blessing to get this many offers at such a young age and it just makes me want to work harder for more. I had a really good season playing freshman on varsity at a prestigious school, but I didn't know that these big-time schools would come offer so early. I'm just blessed about it.”

Visit plans: Williams took visits to both Michigan and Notre Dame earlier this week. He has nothing else scheduled, but knows that he would like to get a closer look at LSU, Florida State, Texas A&M and Arizona, plus he is already looking into return trips to both Ann Arbor and South Bend.
