Rivals Five-Star: LIVE from Media Day in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Rivals Five-Star, the marquee high school football event of the summer, has arrived. On Tuesday, the 100 players set to compete at the Jacksonville Jaguars' facility rolled through media day.

Rivals caught up with four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills on Tuesday. He took official visits to Nebraska, Florida, Oklahoma, Clemson and LSU.

After about six official visits in a six-week span, one of the top blockers in the class of 2025 is in the home stretch of his recruitment. Sanford (Fla.) Seminole rising-senior lineman Max Buchanan has now set a verbal commitment date of Aug. 3, he said at the Rivals Five-Star event Tuesday.

Rivals caught up with class of 2025 Duncanville (Texas) four-star QB and Alabama commit Keelon Russell on Tuesday. Russell, a top-50 prospect in the Rivals250, talked about several blue-chip prospects he is working to recruit to join him in Tuscaloosa.

Riley Pettijohn stayed busy taking a closer look at his top contenders over the past month and change. The No. 1 linebacker in the Rivals250 is a step closer to making his decision.

Pettijhon expects to have a decision made the first week of July. USC, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M are finalists for the four-star linebacker.

Rivals caught up with class of 2025 Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep four-star cornerback and Notre Dame commit Dallas Golden on Tuesday. Golden committed to the Fighting Irish in late April and they were the lone program he took an official visit to this summer.

Luke Metz needed two official visits in June to gain clarity on his recruitment. Metz, the No. 3-ranked inside linebacker in the 2025 Rivals250, made back-to-back official visits to Georgia and then Alabama this month.

Rivals caught up with Daverin "Deuce" Geralds to kick off the event. Geralds, the No. 28 overall prospect in the 2026 Rivals250, is one of the most offered prospects in the country. With schools coming from every direction, he is looking to focus in a much smaller group.
