Buzz: Recruits like Klemm's youth. They like his Super Bowl rings, too. That's all to say he can relate to where high schools players are and speak as an expert on where they want to go. He's been on a few of these lists in the past, and for good reason. This time, he helped fast forward UCLA's rebuilding process by bringing a whopping seven four-star prospects to Westwood. Klemm was the architect of one of the nation's best offensive line classes and had a hand in landing Rivals250 wide receiver Eldridge Massington. It was clear early in the cycle that Klemm, who has connections in every corner of country, was the most valuable piece in the Bruins' recruiting success.

Buzz: The recruitment of Thomas Tyner, the No. 2 running back in America and the crown jewel of the Ducks class, was a true team effort. While Frost was certainly involved in the process, it's not what sets him apart. The season-long rumors of Chip Kelly's departure didn't make things on the recruiting trail easy, but Frost found a way to help protect the Robinson twins from Washington and to steal a pair of four-star receivers in Devon Allen and Darren Carrington.
Buzz: Nothing about Arizona State's haul will wow the casual fan, but what Long did in landing linebacker Chans Cox, one of the state of Arizona's top overall players, made a statement. The Sun Devils' new coaching regime is trying to establish an identity with in-state targets, and nabbing Cox, a player with a Notre Dame offer to his name, helped do just that. Long was involved with the recruitment of junior college wide receiver Jaelen Strong, among others.
Buzz: Rivals250 defensive end Joe Mathis was Lupoi's biggest trophy of the cycle, but he was not his only one. The Washington assistant was responsible for a haul of D-linemen who went four deep with solid talent and included a pair of four-star prospects (Mathis and defensive tackle Elijah Qualls). Lupoi's role wasn't limited to linemen, though. He pitched in around the periphery and played a supporting role in the chase for touted wide receiver Damore'ea Stringfellow, among others.
Buzz: Martin and Klemm make up one of the country's best one-two recruiting punches. The Bruins secondary coach, Martin had six prospects to his name on signing day, and all of them were four-stars. He made his killing in the recruiting hotbed of California and fought off dozens of schools to keep a nice haul of players in state. His most impressive acquisition of the year was probably former USC commit Kylie Fitts, whom UCLA snagged down the stretch. The fact that he rattled off pledges from elite-level defensive backs Johnny Johnson, Tahaan Goodman, Priest Willis and Tyler Foreman in a week's time served as an exclamation point.
Buzz: Martin wasn't supposed to be the recruiting star of the Trojans staff. Then again, nothing went as it was supposed to for USC all year. The rising star stood out on a staff full of coaches with reputations as closers. Martin was instrumental in landing five-star safety Leon McQuay III and was the driving force behind USC's signing day acquisition of Quinton Powell. While Martin made his name outside the state of California, he was involved in the recruitment of many of the program's local targets.
Buzz: Nansen brought the nation's top dual-threat quarterback to Washington when he locked up Troy Williams. While that is probably the banner on Nansen's year, it wasn't his only trick. The Huskies special teams coordinator secured key pieces John Ross, Azeem Victor and Keishawn Bierria.
Buzz: Polamalu was the man responsible for USC's running back haul, which was comprised of Ty Isaac and Justin Davis. Neither player was in his assigned recruiting region, but he was a big part of sealing the deal with both. Polamalu was also instrumental in getting a commitment from and retaining the top player in California, Su'a Cravens.
Buzz: Cal's class wasn't great overall, but things could have been a lot worse if it weren't for Sacks. The Golden Bears assistant went all Robin Hood on less traditional programs late in the game. He flipped Tony Mekari from Arizona, Jacobi Hunter from Indiana, Raymond Davison from Northwestern and Johnny Ragin III from BYU. It should also be noted that Sacks was instrumental in retaining Ragin when Oregon came calling late in the process.
Buzz: Oregon State's class had two headlines: The Beavers did well in California's Inland Empire and with defensive tackles from the junior college ranks. Seumalo was the reason for both. The Oregon State defensive line coach had a major role in 12 of the 25 commitments and was a one-man guerilla army on the recruiting trail.
