Rivals.com Junior Day 2006
The Junior Day events scheduled for San Diego State and the University of South Carolina have been canceled for several different reasons. Players that were interested in the San Diego Junior Day are encouraged to attend the Junior Day in Orange County on March 25. Players that wanted to attend the event in South Carolina are welcome to attend the event at Lovejoy High School on March 11.

It's become clear
that parents, coaches and recruits often go into the recruiting process

player is, but they don't care about the recruits themselves.

important to assist the recruits when it comes to understanding the
recruiting process.
Instead of just finding out how fast or tall you are, Rivals.com hosts a
series of Junior Day events across the country that help recruits
and their family members get important questions about the recruiting
process answered from coaches, speakers, parents of former recruits and
players that have just completed the recruiting process.
After stops at
Texas, and the
Akron, the Rivals.com Junior Days head next to Naperville North
High School in suburban Chicago on Saturday, March 4. That event is
followed up with a trip down south to Lovejoy High School in
suburban Atlanta on Saturday, March 11. That's followed up with an event
at the University of Southern Mississippi on Saturday, March 18. On
Saturday, March 25, Rivals.com will be at Anaheim (Calif.) Servite High
School for an event featuring many of the top players in the West. On
Saturday, April 1, there will be two events - at Bishop Moore High
School in Orlando, Fla., and Highland Springs High School in
Richmond, Va. The final stop on the tour is Sunday, April 2 at Rutgers
University in East Brunswick, N.J.
These events are one day of education that could have an impact on the
rest of your life.

How
do you get invited?
These events are invite only, but if you are a
legitimate Division I prospect, have not received an invitation and you
would like to attend an event, please contact

Who
does the talking?
The
main speaker that Rivals.com has entrusted to help conducted the events
across the nation is Joe Hornback of Des Moines (Iowa) Roosevelt.
Hornback was a three-year letter winner from the University of Kansas and
has established himself as one of the best in the state of Iowa and previous
to that in Missouri at Grandview High School.
He
has coached numerous Division I players. He is also a veteran of the Rivals
Junior Days and has been the main speaker at the events the previous five
years. He also was recently quoted by CBS Sports as one of the nation's
foremost experts in helping kids understand the recruiting process.
Rivals.com also brings in former college football players, high school
coaches and players that have just recently completed the recruiting process
to talk about their experiences, share their stories and help educate the
recruits in the Class of 2007 about the journey that they're about to embark
on.
The
events at Anaheim, Orlando, Richmond and East Brunswick will
feature different speakers, including former University of Texas recruiting
coordinator Randy Rogers, Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure coach
John Mack and several others.
