Rivals.com Atlantic East Top 25 Quarterbacks

One of the nation’s top quarterbacks is also the No. 1 quarterback in the Atlantic East Region. Rivals.com is proud to present the Atlantic East Top 25 Quarterbacks and it’s highlighted by Charlotte Independence quarterback Chris Leak, who has shattered every passing record in the state of North Carolina.

Leak is arguably the most prolific passer in the history of American high school football. So far during his career, he has thrown for 13,634 yards 159 touchdown passes. In the last three weeks, he has thrown for more than 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Three weeks ago, he threw for 561 yards and eight scoring strikes, tying a state record. Florida, Florida State, Iowa, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Texas are Leak’s top teams. He’s heading to Texas this weekend for an official visit.
Cory Holt of Lexington, N.C., is one of the nation’s more complete packages. Holt has an absolute cannon for an arm and is solid in the pocket. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds and is very mobile.
Holt was named all-conference, all-county and all-area as a junior. Holt connected on 108 of 192 passes for 2,038 yards and 29 touchdowns during his junior season, throwing just eight interceptions. He tied a state record by throwing for eight touchdowns in one game last year and also added 540 yards rushing and five more scores.
Maryland, N.C. State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest top his list.
Boston College’s quarterback of the future is ranked at No. 5 on the. Philadelphia Penn Charter standout Matt Ryan is 6-5 and 200 pounds and is heading to play for the Eagles. Syracuse has landed the No. 6 quarterback in the region in Joe Dailey of Jersey City (N.J.) Saint Peter’s Prep.
Ryan Mitch is the No. 7 quarterback in the region and he’s heading to Maryland with his 6-3, 200-pound frame. He is the top quarterback in Maryland this season and was a solid priority and a solid get for the Terps.
