Rivals 250 DB set for 'key' visit to Ohio State

Jalen Perry revealed his top four schools earlier this month and Ohio State was one of them.

He visited Columbus for the first over the summer and he liked it a lot. He is ready to take in game-day this time. It will be his second visit to Ohio State and Perry will get to see the Buckeyes host N0. 2-ranked Penn State.

"I am excited about it," said Perry. "I went up there the first time and toured the campus, met with the coaches, saw the stadium and things like that, so this visit will be different.

"I got the basic tour behind me, so now I get to see the crowd, I get to see two great teams play and I can't wait."

The four-star cornerback out of Dacula (Ga.) knows it is a big game and he wants to see the crowd inside the horseshoe.

"I really want to see what the atmosphere is like there. I love the tradition at Ohio State and I know they have some great coaches and players, so I really want to see the crowd, what it is like for a big game and just the overall atmosphere on game-day.

"I have heard it is one of the best in college football, so I am excited about being a part of that."

Not only will Perry have his eye on the crowd, but he will watch the players closely too.

"I really just want to see how the players respond to the big game," said Perry. "I want to see how they play, how the coaches react, how they get ready and just how the overall team responds.

"They are playing Penn State, one of the top teams in the country, so it is important to be ready, to play well and I will be watching that. I will be watching from what they do pre-game, how they play all game, what they do or say after the game whether it is a win or loss, so I am trying to take as much in as possible on this trip."

The reason this trip is so important is that this could be the last visit to Ohio State before he makes his decision. Perry has narrowed his list to four schools and he was at Alabama last weekend. He has visited Georgia and South Carolina for games this season already too.

He knows he is getting closer, so this visit will carry a lot of weight.

"I am not going to wait it out or anything. When I know for sure where I want to go, I will commit to that school. I have always thought I would commit to someone during my junior year and that is still the plan.

"This is a key visit for me and Ohio State. As you get closer to a decision, every visit means that much more. I will be looking at every single detail this visit, so it is very important for me. It will be a big 24 hours for me up there."

Ohio State is right in the thick of this race.

"They have been coming at me hard for a while now. They feel I am the type of player that can come in and compete for playing time on their defense.

"I am in contact with them a lot. I talk to defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs, coach [Ryan] Day (quarterbacks) recruits my area, so we talk a lot and I talk with coach [Urban] Meyer a good bit too. They are all recruiting me and I like them all."

Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina are the other three finalists.
