Rivals 100 DB previews upcoming visits to Michigan, Texas and USC

Kenyatta Watson II is a 2019 cornerback out Loganville (Ga.) Grayson that has quietly emerged as one of the top cover guys in his class. Over two dozen schools have offered the 6-foot-2, 183 pound junior and he has three big unofficial visits coming up.

It starts this weekend with his first trip to Ann Arbor. He has a special connection with one of the Wolverine coaches.

"Coach Al Washington is like part of our family, so he is a big part of why Michigan is a school I am interested in," said Watson. "My dad (Kenyatta Watson played at Boston College) has known him for a while since he was at Boston College, so we have a great relationship.

"Coach Washington was the first coach to offer me, so he is special. I want to get up there and spend time with him, but also get a look at Michigan. They have great tradition, they have produced a lot of top players in recent years and I just want to se how it is up there."

If things go well, Michigan is likely to receive an official visit from Watson, the No. 10-ranked cornerback in his class.

Just a week after he trips north, Watson will head west to Austin. One of the schools that has been recruiting him as hard as anyone over the few months is Texas.

"I have been in contact with coach [Jason] Washington about every other day for a while now. Texas has been on me hard and it really started during the season. They really want me to visit, so I am excited about getting out there.

"Texas is one of those schools I just always liked growing up. I liked watching them play, so I want to take this visit and see how I like it out there."

Each visit is crucial for Watson because he is not one who likes to stay out late and spend the weekends at parties, but he likes to stay at home. He is searching for his next home when on this visits.

"I am a true homebody," said Watson. "I am looking for a place I can feel at home and feel comfortable at. That is so important to me. It is not about going out and all that, but just feeling at home.

"I just like to chill in my room, so I am looking for a place I can feel like I feel at home every day. I am looking to get to know the people and just see if I could like there on these visits."

The last school to offer Watson is USC. The Trojans were on his radar before they offered, so now that they have, a trip to L.A. has already been scheduled.

"I am going out to USC March 3. As a kid, USC and Miami were two schools that I really liked, so getting this offer was big for me.

"I love their tradition and now I want to see the campus and spend time with coach [Ron] Bradford. Coach wants to show me around, talk with me and I am looking forward to it."

These three visits will be very important for Watson and the schools. He is currently planning to take an official visit to Notre Dame in April and he said that is the only one locked in at this time.

Could these three visits lead to official visits in the spring or fall? Only time will tell, but Watson knows he is on the clock and it is time for him to get serious about his recruitment.

"It is my time now," said Watson. "I have to make some big decisions soon, so these visits are very important to me and my family. I am going to see how I feel when I am on each campus, then take it from there.

"I have some schools in mind for official visits other than Notre Dame, but nothing has been set yet."

Watson said he currently has no favorites.
