FARRELL’S VIEW: MARIO WILLIAMS

Slot receivers with speed are all the rage in college football and the NFL and Mario Williams is the best prospect at that position in the 2021 class. He can separate, is great at running routes and setting defensive backs up and has dynamic speed. Williams reminds me of Christian Kirk and our Florida Recruiting Analyst, Rob Cassidy, covered Kirk in high school and feels strongly about this comparison as well. Kirk has lived up to the five-star hype and Williams will too.

GORNEY’S VIEW: QUAYDARIUS DAVIS

The wide receiver position is one where we could see significant changes at the top throughout this recruiting cycle and one player who has a real chance of getting his fifth star is Quaydarius Davis. If his offseason performances are any indication, Davis could very much be in that conversation in the coming months.

Every weekend, I see the Dallas (Texas) Skyline receiver at another event and he’s making highlight-reel catches, he’s catching passes with one hand as cornerbacks drape themselves all over him and he’s making really tough catches look easy.

Plus, I love the confidence Davis plays the position with because he’s out to prove he’s the best every time he’s on the field. The high four-star is physical, he’s tough, he’s fast with the ball in his hands and he’s proven this offseason that he should maybe be even higher than fourth at the position. Davis should be in the five-star discussion before his senior season.
